The jacket appears to be Grey in color. We made this jacket style #656L (long) in the Steerhide color Grey in 1981. This was the only year we offered this style in the grey color in a long size. Gail |

Thanks Gail! When I get it I'll get the tag info off the jacket to confirm things. Would love to know how many were actually made.
From your message it sounds like the jacket might have been available in other sizes in this color in other years? Or was this grey color only in 1981 regardless of size? |

This is the only year I can find that we made the color grey in this style in steerhide leather. In 1986 we did make a 556 which was the same style but in Top Grain cowhide and we did not make it in long sizes. Although I cannot tell you how many jackets were made in the 656L color grey, I know it would not be a large amount. We always make less long sizes then a regular size in any style and the color grey would also limit the amount as black if the popular color. If I had to make a educated guess, based on one year production of the jacket I would estimate arround 200 pcs. for a total of all sizes made. Gail |
