Hi, one of my Schott leather jackets is a 660. Does anyone know if using Tenderly Conditioner on it once a year would cause any harm? It's a well-known Italian brand, used on leather jackets, expensive leather furniture, etc...

Thank you for any thoughts.

We  only recommend saddle soap for a light cleaning and mink oil for conditioning leather. With any product you always need to test the product on a part of the jacket that is not seen. Products can cause darkening and spotting of the leather. Gail

Thank you.

Are you able to recommend a specific brand of mink oil? Thanks.

I do not have a specific name of a mink oil product. There are many mink oil products on the web that you can purchase. When purchasing a brand just do not purchase one that waterproofs as that product contains a sealant usually silicone. This is OK for shoes and boots, but leather needs to breath if you seal the pores on the leather it it will start to dry out. Waterproofing on footwear does not present such a s problem as usually shoes are worn a few years whereas a leather jacket you will want to have for many years. You want to condition your jacket not waterproof it. Gail
