Hi, did you make a 640 model for a company called Gap Star in the early 1990s? I bought one in the Netherlands in 1991. The tag in the left hand pocket says '640GAP'.
Also, I've got a pea coat in brown leather which I bought in London in 1997. There's an embroidered Schott logo (in brown thread) on the left hand side at breast height. The tag in the left hand pocket is no longer legible. The leather never felt quite like naked cowhide, less pliant and somehow coated. Did you produce the pea coat for export in other leathers at the time?
Thanks for your time. |

We did make the style 640GAP for Gap Star in the early 1990's. Your leather peacoat is our style 141J and was produced with the small Logo embroidery on the chest for europe. The jacket is a naked cowhide, but it is possible a previous owner applied a product to the jacket which will change the appearance and feel of the naked cowhide leather. Gail |

Hi Gail, thanks for your reply. Any idea what leather you used for the 640? |
