If the jacket is from the 1980's it probably best to have the entire jacket cleaned and conditioned. The pile liner in the jacket is not washable. All leather should be professionally cleaned every several years based on how much you wear the jacket. Materials such as linings and stitching will deteriorate from the dirt and sweat, causing linings to rip and seams opening up.
