Is the 740n leather peacoat the same as the 140 leather currently available? What is the difference . Thanks !!!

The 740 wool peacoat is the same style and sizing as the 140 leather peacoat. The only difference is one is the 32 oz. Melton wool and the other is the Naked Cowhide leather. Gail

Is this vintage one on left the same as the new. 140? Can you date it ?
Gail on 10/26/12 at 07:23 AM

I am sorry but I cannot date a jacket just by the photo I would need more information. In the pocket is a white ticket which should have a bar code and style information on it. We have not changed the 140 since we first produced the style in 1994. except for for the buttons. Older jackets have a polyurtehane anchor button, newer jackets have a metal anchor button. Gail

Here are 2 pics If the faded label 1612511000 50 Lot 140 Bundle - cant see ( maybe it says 29? ) Thanks so much for all of this info

The fifth digit is a 5 which represents the year, the bar code is no longer in our system to check. I believe it was made in 2005 as the ticket has size, lot and bundle number, jackets made in 1995 did not have all this additional information on the ticket. Gail

What year did the button change to metal from plastic . Thanks Is this picture a plastic or metal button . It seems plastic

I think it was around 2006 we started using the metal buttons on the leather peacoats. To be honest I do not have the exact date.Gail
